Medical doctors would check Jewish prisoners to see if they were healthy and be sent back to work and to see if the had gold teeth, so they can be taken away

Beethoven was a German composer.
3.Describe one if Idek's bouts of madness.
He would take out his rage on the first one he saw.
4.How did Elie initially avoid loosing his gold crown?
By lying that he wasn't feeling good.
5.How did Elie meet on the Paris metro.
He met a French women in the concentration camp that he later saw.
6.What happened to Elie when he refused to give his gold crown to Franek?What was the end result?Franek beat up Elie's dad several times and Elie gave up his gold crown for nothing.
7.Describe the scene of the soup cauldrons.
One of the inmates crawled for some soup and he got shot.
8.During the preliminary ceremonies before hanging, what did Juliek whisper to Elie?What did he suggest?"They're expecting trouble". They taught it was going to be tough because the were going to fight.
9.During one hanging, Elie and the other prisoners cried.What made this hanging different from the others? The little kid was to light and he could breathe, but he was between life and death and after half hour he died.
Chapter 5
1.Why didn't Elie fast on Yom Kippur? He was forbidden by his father and he no longer accepted God's silence. As sign of rebellion, he swallowed his rations.
2.What advice was given to Elie to pass the selection?
"Run as if the devil was in your hells. Don't look at the S.S.Run in a straight line.And don't be afraid."
3.How did Elie's father respond when he had learned that his name had been written down?
4.What did Akiba Drumer ask others to do for him?Did they do it?
Gather 10 men and hold a special service and think of him. All his friends would gather and say kaddish, but they didn't.
5.Why was Elie placed in a hospital?He was going to get surgery.
